LaPark Inclusive Playground & Splash Pad
In 2018, Bethany Church began to consider the renovation of the former Park School playground into something more for our community. Seeing no truly inclusive playgrounds in the area and the trend toward splash pads, Bethany decided to combine the two into a play space for ALL ages and abilities.
Thanks to an outpouring of community and congregational support, LaPark officially opened on July 5th, 2020! This inclusive playground features poured in place surfacing, accessible equipment, and a large splash pad with bright, fun features.
This area is open for free to the community daily from Memorial Day to Labor Day from 10 am to 6pm. The playground remains accessible off season through the sidewalk gate.
Continued improvements will be made with any donations received. We would like to eventually have permanent restrooms and a concession stand to service the area which adjoins the bike path.
Local Heroes Benefits
& Red Wine and Brew
Bethany Church heads up the organization of various Local Heroes Benefit Events. The concert portion of these events are great local events that attract thousands to our community each year to show appreciation for our local heroes - first responders!
The greater cause of this event is to give back to local Police, Sheriff, Fire, DNR, and EMS Departments. Since 2015, over $120,000 has been given back to those who help keep our community safe.
Bethany Church gives away 100% of the profits from this event to various first responder departments. We also keep the First Responders in our thoughts and prayers throughout the year and in December will deliver special gifts and cards to those working on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

In 2021, we helped to establish a working dog K9 retirement fund to help with the medical needs of retiring law enforcement and other first responder K9's. Call to apply at 219-363-8060
